ICNS is made up of a parent run Board of Directors and additional parental involvement in other school responsibilities ie: Field trip Planner, Scheduler etc. All parents enrolled in the school are required to have a job, along with assisting in the classroom approximately once a month.

Our teacher for both the 3 and 4 year old programs is Michelle Parker. Michelle and her family reside in Irondequoit.  Michelle is very familiar with the cooperative approach to school, as both her children attended cooperatives and Michelle also served as Chairperson on the Board of one of them.

Mrs. Michelle has a background in Child Psychology, in which she holds her Masters. Her work has focused on children and working with their families in a variety of service agencies. She  worked for a number of years in Boston, with families and toddlers to three year olds at an early intervention program. She has also worked as a therapist/researcher for a U of R program designed to assist women suffering from depression. A large component of this program was working with young children and designing developmental play groups.  Most recently, Mrs. Michelle worked at St. John Fisher teaching Child Development.
